Giving Thanks

thank you note
Thanksgiving is coming at a perfect time this year. Work has been extremely busy so I’m looking forward to some much needed time with my family. I work part-time but lately it feels like a full-time job. There aren’t many part-time positions at my company, and I know that I’m lucky they are willing to accommodate my needs, but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. So on the eve of Thanksgiving I wanted to put things into perspective and reflect on all that is good in my life. Of course my health, the health of my family, my two beautiful children, and my friends both old and new come to mind. I’m also grateful for those who serve our country and put their lives on the line to afford us freedom. These are big issues that I sometimes lose sight of in the daily grind. But I also wanted to celebrate all those little things that have big meaning. So here goes:
Top 10 List of The Little Pleasures I’m Grateful For
10. My son still wants to snuggle with me
9. My daughter wants me to stay in her room every night to talk and it’s often a battle for me to leave. I recognize these days are numbered
8. Our Halloween candy is almost gone (the novelty for my kids wore off on day 2, so yours truly has enjoyed plenty of midnight snacks)
7. We haven’t remodeled so I don’t worry when my son crashes his trucks around the house
6. We’re past the Frozen craze. I was bummed at first but I’ve learned to Let it Go
5. Chocolate. Need I say more?
4. That I live close to my family and they’re an integral part of my kids’ lives
3. My crockpot, which I’ve recently discovered and has been a life- changing addition to my dinner repertoire
2. Those days my son sleeps past 6:30 am. Who knew I’d one day consider 7:00 am sleeping in
1. I’m thankful for all of you who have been a part of my journey
Happy Thanksgiving!
