Giving Thanks

Yes, I realize it’s not Thanksgiving, but I wanted to give thanks to all of you. I am humbled by your support and enthusiasm for my book. I went into this journey not knowing what to expect, but by far my favorite part has been hearing from so many of you. It’s allowed me to reconnect with friends and family I haven’t heard from in a while. From high school to college and beyond, I have enjoyed every note and word of encouragement you have shared.

Many of you have asked if there is a sequel. The answer is maybe. I’d like there to be and I’m already halfway through writing it. The book follows Lexi’s sister Tara on her journey to finding the one. You will also learn more about Jake and Lexi through her story. To be honest I shelved it a while ago because I wanted to see how this book does first. I have to sell A LOT of copies to break even on my investment. If I can do that I will put out the second and I hope the third, fourth and fifth. I have many more plotlines mapped out in my head, all featuring a different character from Out in the Open.

Things are going okay so far but I don’t really have a benchmark to serve as a comparison. I follow a writer on Twitter and he recently tweeted it’s a slow month because he’s sold less than 6,000 copies. Umm, I’ll be lucky if I sell that in my lifetime. So, maybe I’m not doing so well after all.

My main goal was to write something that would offer an escape and make people feel good. So at the end of the day if I’ve done that then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do. Thanks again and love to you all. You know who you are 🙂
